Online Grocery Delivery vs. Grocery stores

Online shopping is ever-increasingly more popular now a days and grocery home delivery seems to be flourishing. Upon hearing or reading about this service, one would immediately think “convenience”. Indeed, it is. Imagine not rushing through the grocery store weaving and dodging other consumers, not being stuck in traffic, and not having to carry heavy grocery bags to your home. You do not have to do any of these unpleasant tasks, instead, just sit back, let your fingers do the shopping for you and have it delivered to your doorstep.

Still, a lot of people prefer to go to their local grocery store rather than have it delivered. Why? Although online grocery deliveries have dependable shoppers who select the items, some do not trust their choices or their perception of freshness, for example,  in picking up fresh fruits and vegetables. Others fear untimely delivery. After all, you have a family to feed. For most people, grocery shopping is too important of a task to delegate to another person. Some wives even rarely ask their husbands to do the grocery shopping for them because they fear their husband’s incompetent when it comes to shopping for groceries.

Another reason for slow adoption of online grocery shopping is that many people are not yet computer literate. And some haven’t even heard that there are grocery home delivery services. Lastly, online grocery items are more expensive in comparison to products on grocery stores shelves. And in today’s tough economy,  people would rather wait in line than pay for grocery home delivery fees, in spite of the its convenience.

Either way, it is up to you. You might choose to abandon traditional grocery shopping and adapt a new routine. Still, the goal remains the same: to feed your family with fresh foods and quality products.
