One of our basic chores is grocery shopping. Most of us do it once a week, on our day off. Some do it every day. Regardless of how often you grocery shop, one thing’s for sure, we want to minimize the time it takes you to complete the task. Here are some tips in order for you to save time:
- Prior to going to the grocery store, write on a piece of paper all the things you need to buy. In this manner, you won’t forget anything and this will eliminate impulse buying.
- If possible, leave children at home. Children tend to ask you to buy foods which look appealing to them. If you buy them, when they are unnecessary, you might go over budget. And if you do not buy it for them, they might throw a tantrum.
- For a short grocery list, choose to carry a basket instead of the cart, so you won’t have room for unnecessary items. Move around the grocery store in a systemic order, this way you won’t wander aimlessly through the store greatly increasing your chance of impulse buying.
- Prepare your cash or your discount coupons ahead of time and if you’re using a credit card, make sure it works. This way you will not slow down the checkout process.
- And lastly, do your shopping where it’s most convenient to you. It might be at groceries stores nearest to your home or the one that offers the lowest prices. Not only will you save time but will also save money.
These are only some tips you would want to remember when grocery shopping. Either way, embrace grocery shopping rather than seeing it as a stressful chore.
